Hi, I’m Jeri Guyette-Beckles, and my journey as a businesswoman and consultant started long before I ever thought of myself as an entrepreneur. I’ve always had a passion for beauty, science, and helping people feel confident in their skin. That passion led me to create Vintage Vixen Cosmetics, LLC, the very first luxury color cosmetics company especially created for multi-ethnic, middle-aged women, 35 and “Finer”. I wanted peri-menopausal, menopausal, and post-menopausal women to have products that not only looked amazing but also supported their skin’s changing needs by boosting collagen production and maintaining moisture.
My background is a little unconventional. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in a variety of roles – biological scientist, cosmetic scientist, master cosmetologist, paramedical aesthetician, certified medical electrologist, camouflage makeup artist, and even a clinical laboratory technologist. I spent many years studying biology, chemistry, and clinical sciences, and I graduated as a non-traditional student with my Bachelor of Science degree in 2016, all while raising my two children as a divorced, single mom. Balancing school, work, parenting, and life wasn’t easy, and while I earned grants, endowments, and scholarships, I still had to take out student loans to make it happen. But that experience taught me resilience and gave me a special perspective that I use even today.
When I launched Vintage Vixen Cosmetics in 2019, I never expected it to open so many doors. I was invited to speak at 1 Million Cups, women’s empowerment events, business conferences, and skincare and ageing panels. After every talk, women would come up to me – not just asking about beauty, but about how to start their own businesses. In 2021 alone, I had helped nearly 30 people launch their companies, and I kept seeing the same challenge over and over: most of them didn’t have the proper business structure in place. That’s when I realized that my next chapter wasn’t just building my own business but helping others build theirs too.
That’s also why I created Jeri Guyette LLC Consulting – to guide new and aspiring entrepreneurs through the maze of business formation, structure, and strategy so they can set themselves up for real, lasting success. I also became a certified expert in student loan repayment because I know firsthand how debt can hold back big dreams. Now I help people navigate repayment programs by specializing in PSLF (Public Service Loan Repayment) and IDR (Income Driven Repayment), so they can free themselves financially and step confidently into entrepreneurship. And even if being a business owner isn’t your goal, tackling student loan debt can open doors to improved credit ratings, homeownership, legacy wealth-building, or even traveling the world, you name it!
I’ve been honored to receive recognition along the way like the 2025 / 2024 Black Leaders Worldwide Woman to Watch, the 2024 ACHI Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the 2024 General, Bosses, & Bossettas Woman in Business Award, the 2023 Lucas Center for Entrepreneurship Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and the 2023 Phatz Foundation Black Business Excellence Award. But what I really enjoy is seeing others win and dreams come true!
